In this week’s blog post, I will be discussing my inspiration for writing a clarinet quartet arrangement of the first movement “Adagio-Allegro” from Felix Mendelssohn’s String Symphony No. 8. Although Mendelssohn wrote this piece at only age 13, it already demonstrates his unique compositional style, blending Baroque and Classical influences.
