Borodin: Polovtsian Dances Overture, from the opera Prince Igor - for Woodwind Quintet
This woodwind quintet arrangement of Alexander Borodin's "Polovtsian Dances Overture" from his opera Prince Igor, an orchestral showpiece, is a fun challenge for professional and college ensembles. It's a great opener or closer for a recital, weddings, special events, and graduations. There is an optional percussion part (tambourine); the piece works well either way. I have also included an alternate bass clarinet part in lieu of a missing bassoon. Originally scored for a full orchestra, I hope you enjoy this transcription of Borodin’s masterwork in orchestration.
